Life is falling to pieces: an illustrated journal

Life tends to suck if you let it. An illustrated journal about the way I've totally screwed up my life and (hopefully) how I'm going to get myself out of it.

Video Entry #2: Creamcheese EPK

FInally (and about damn time!) here is an uploaded verson of the EPK I did for my class last quarter. In the process of converting, compressing, and shrinking it down to an internet ready format, the quality (set to medium) looks like crap and there now apparently seems to be dropped frames and semi-distorted audio. Bleh! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

Mmm.... Cheesecake.... so fucking good.

coool man....
hmmm... now i can guess why you chose this particular project... all those cakes... yummmm!!!!!!!!
ok... a few thoughts... i don't know ur limitations while doing the project... but.... a few sugestion... you could experiment with a voice over... has a lot of benefits 1)it gives u the authority to guide the viewer's thought... 2)gives u a diverion to take up attention during the slow and dragging bits.... the second factor is the camera... try more exciting angles.... with the camera. especially during boring ppl talking shots and stuff like that. ask ur camera person to be a little more bold... let him/her put more individuality and style into the shots....

you're totally right kutty, them free cheesecakes were damn tastey..... ^^

as for the technical aspect, unfortantely the production values were limited to me and my one camera. while it would have been great to have multiple angles for the interviews and stuff, I can only work with what I've got, you know? Thats why I set the two up on opposite ends of a classy looking background. its stationary, yeah, but it works for what i was going for.

as for voice overs... i've never been a big fan unless its a fairly factual documentry/EPK such as medicine or retail or something long those lines. i've always found it much more interesting to edit the interviews into narrarating the story. (plus, even if i had wanted to, who would i get to read for the voice? me? ha! i think not!)

All that fruit crap does NOT belong on a cheesecake.

Is that cheesy house playing in the background or am I looking too much into things again? My therapist keeps warning me about analyzing everything. Anyway ... interesting choice in soundtrack ...
