Life is falling to pieces: an illustrated journal

Life tends to suck if you let it. An illustrated journal about the way I've totally screwed up my life and (hopefully) how I'm going to get myself out of it.

Ok, the fact that this entry is 5 pages long is truely an example of unintended irony.

Secondly, the images are double dated with no times, since I wrote them over a period of two days.

Third: monkeys are STILL coming. I sketched something on the train ride home, but it still needs to be fine tuned and inked. Then scanned. Then, eventually, updated. Weekend plans may hinder actual posting of monkeys till Sunday night... But there will be monkeys! Oh yes... there will.... mwhahahahahahahahaaaa

Um..."Institutionalized", Suicidal Tendencies? Or not. It sounds about right, though. And yeah...I'd say more people are "not normal" than normal only because society gives us this freaky narrow area and calls that normal, when no one really fits into it anyway. Instead, we all to the line of grey area (or wallow in it) and lie to fake this so-called normalcy. It's my theory, anyway.

It looks like when you really want to do something (trick your boyfriend into thinking you were at class) you are fully capable of getting off your butt and doing it. If you really wanted to go to class, you would do it then, right? Maybe school isn't what you really want?

Either way, it's good to have you back.

It's so easy to skip the second time. You've already done it once, won't hurt to do it again right?

That's not right but Julie has a good point. School is not for everyone you know, maybe you're pushing yourself too hard for something other people want for you that you don't want for yourself?

Now, this is not a reason to further skip school. Don't blame me!! I'm just giving you some food for thought for those train rides into the city....

OMG, the five minute thing - I do that, too! Like, I should be getting stuff together for work tomorrow, but instead I'll keep blogging 'till 8:00 because who wants to start something new at 7:51??

P.S. Your blog is awesome.

Serena, sometimes people just need a little accountability and tough love. Do you have any other classmates in school to whom you are closer and who might call to see where you are?

not really. almost every single person i went to school with from my group has either dropped out or graduated (i think). right now im actually with a whole new group of people (two actually), none of whom i am close with.

ultimately, i think one of the main reasons i was able to just ditch a whole week is that there was noone around who would be like "what the hell are you doing home?" it made it way too easy not to go.

I do the thing with the fives as well, especially when getting out of bed. I think I rationalise that one to myself by saying that those 'in between' minutes don't exist - if I needed to get up at 7, but it's now 7:01, it won't make any difference (in my mind) whether I get up at 7:01, 7:02, 7:03... etc. So I might as well make it 7:10. Or 7:20. Even if I'm already running REALLY late. And yep, I know that makes no sense at all.

As for the 'missing Friday because you'd already missed Wednesday' thing... god, that sounds like me. Completely. Ugh.
